Poya and Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of the natural essential oils in aromatic plants to enhance physical, mental and emotional well-being. Inhaling aromatic substances, massaging them onto the skin, and using them by other techniques is not new – since ancient times, civilizations all over the world have valued fragrant plants, flowers, woods and resins for their healing powers, with relaxing and uplifting effects on the mind. Poya now brings you the same essence of nature with our new range of today’s most popular Essential Oils and Carrier Oils. The following pages will introduce you to the potential of this fabulous new product line.

Poya Essential Oils

Essential Oils are the highly concentrated, aromatic and volatile essences of plants, found in their flowers and fruits, leaves and stems, and bark and roots. One of the easiest ways to see this is to press an orange rind, which will release the tangy, orange fragrance from the essential oil of the peel. Often extracted through steam distillation, many oils retain the essence of the plant, which comprise the constituents of their immune systems. Though imperative in aromatherapy, Essential Oils are also used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, soaps and toiletries, candles and domestic cleaning products. All our Essential Oils are premium-grade botanical oils –assurance to our customers of their high quality. They are powerful and concentrated, so care must be taken to ensure they are never applied to the skin undiluted.

Poya Carrier Oils

A Carrier Oil is a cold-pressed vegetable oil derived from the fatty portion of a plant, usually from the seeds, kernels or nuts. Widely used in aromatherapy, Carrier Oils are used to dilute Essential Oils prior to the treatment, and carry  the essential oil into the skin. Aroma therapeutic creams, lotions and bath products are all made using vegetable oils. When used for massage therapy as well as in the creation of soaps and cosmetics, the choice of Carrier Oil can make a difference in the therapeutic properties, color, overall fragrance and shelf-life of fine products.
