The citrus scent of Bergamot Oil – sweetly fruity, floral, and suggestive of the scent of Neroli – gives hints of a warm, spicy quality. These properties work together to stimulate the circulation, the mind, and the mood by boosting energy, elevating negative emotions, and offering the sensation of freshness. Reputed to naturally exhibit soothing and sedative effects, it is ideal for easing aches, sprains, and other forms of stress, such as anxiety. This comforting effect in turn benefits those who suffer from high blood pressure, feelings of depression, and sleeplessness.
Bergamot Essential Oil is reputed to balance the skin tone, reduce the appearance of scars, and facilitate the healing of blemishes, thereby helping restore skin quality to promote a rejuvenated appearance. This makes it a popular cosmetic ingredient in moisturizers and soaps. Its invigorating citrus fragrance helps to eliminate unpleasant scents, whether it is body odor or the stale, musty odor of an enclosed indoor environment, and this makes Bergamot Oil an ideal ingredient in cosmetic deodorants as well as room sprays. It is reputed to enable faster healing, both internally and externally, such as by protecting abrasions against infection-causing bacteria and by soothing a respiratory tract that is afflicted with such ailments as symptoms of colds, the flu, or asthma.
