For more than 4000 years, Cumin has been used in culinary applications as a spice. At one time, it also had pecuniary applications and was often used for the repayment of debts and taxes and as a payment for employees. Today, Cumin remains a popular spice in the cuisines of India, the West Indies, and in Central and South America.
When steam distilled, the seeds of the Cuminum cyminum botanical yield Cumin Essential Oil, which has a thin consistency and a color than ranges from greenish yellow to brown. Quick and easy recipes:
Massage blend: For a warming massage blend that is ideal for use on cold days, simply dilute 1-2 drops of Cumin Essential Oil in a Carrier Oil, such as Coconut or Avocado, and apply it to preferred areas of skin.
Diffuser blend: For an aromatherapy experience that is reputed to boost mood, add 3-4 drops of Cumin Essential Oil to a diffuser of personal preference.
Bath blend: For a soothing bath blend that is believed to help refresh muscles, support emotional balance, and stimulate feelings of mental invigoration, first combine 1 cup each of Sea Salts and Epsom Salts in a glass bowl. To this, add ¼ cup of Baking Soda and 60 ml of 1-2 preferred Carrier Oils. Next, add 5-10 drops of Cumin Essential Oil. Thoroughly combine all the ingredients, then spoon ¼ -1 cup of the bath blend into a full bathtub of warm water. Before entering the bath, ensure that the salts have completely dissolved. This recipe is also believed to improve the appearance of the skin - especially areas afflicted with acne.
