Country of origin: India
Product description:
Dill Seed Oil is derived from the seeds of the Dill herb, often called Indian Dill. With a common name that was derived from the Anglo-Saxon word for "lull," Dill was historically used for its soothing qualities and was also commonly used to ward off the effects of sorcery.
Dill Seed Essential Oil is a thin liquid that may be clear and colorless or pale yellow in appearance. It is known to gradually darken over a period of time. With hints of herbaceous, sweet, and spicy notes, Dill Oil's aroma has been described as soft, warm, and somewhat earthy. In aromatherapy applications, its sedative quality makes it ideal for easing the mind by addressing stressful feelings of nervous tension and of being overwhelmed.
Applied topically, Dill Seed Oil is reputed to have carminative, digestive, and antispasmodic properties that are believed to help ease digestion by supporting metabolic function and reducing or eliminating flatulence, hiccups, and constipation. It exhibits disinfectant properties, which are believed to promote the faster healing of wounds.
Quick and easy recipes:
Massage blend: For a simple massage blend that is reputed to promote the body's detoxification, support digestive health and function, and reduce pain and inflammation, dilute 1-2 drops of Dill Seed Essential Oil in 1 tsp. of Sesame Carrier Oil or any Carrier Oil of personal preference. This blend can be massaged into the affected areas of the body – such as the stomach – twice daily for its reputed ability to facilitate the expulsion of bodily pollutants and to ease the discomforts of constipation, diarrhea, hiccups, and flatulence.
Diffuser blend: For a comforting diffuser recipe that is reputed to have antioxidant effects, add 4 drops of Dill Seed Essential Oil to a vaporizer of personal preference. To enhance the uplifting quality of Dill Oil, combine it with 4 drops of a preferred citrus Essential Oil to ease symptoms of nervous disorders, such as anxiety, hypertension, anger, and depression, as well as to ease insomnia.
Bath blend: For a bath blend that is reputed to have reparative effects on the skin, first combine 1 cup each of Sea Salts and Epsom Salts in a glass bowl. To this, add ¼ cup of Baking Soda and 60 ml of 1-2 preferred light Carrier Oils, such as Abyssinian, Babassu, or Rosehip. Next, add 8-10 drops of Dill Seed Essential Oil. Thoroughly combine all the ingredients, then spoon ¼ -1 cup of the bath blend into a full bathtub of warm water. Before entering the bath, ensure that the salts have completely dissolved. This recipe is believed to protect against the development of fungal infections, to reduce excess water weight, and to promote a feeling of ease in stiff joints.
