Botanical name: Rosmarinus officinalis
Country of origin: Spain
Rosemary derives its name from the Latin words meaning 'dew of the sea', which is a reference to its native proximity to the Mediterranean Sea. An amazing aromatherapy oil with versatile applications, Rosemary has a strong herbaceous and camphoraceous scent that is known to be invigorating, refreshing and stimulating for the mind and spirit.
The most commonly used Rosemary Essential Oil comes from Spain and is steam-distilled from the whole herb. Used cosmetically, this oil is believed to help improve the appearance of dry or mature skin, hydrating it and reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Traditionally it is believed to help improve the appearance of acne, blemishes, and dull-looking skin by addressing impurities and balancing oil. Rosemary Oil is also reputed to help maintain healthy circulation, promoting a firm and smooth appearance for the skin.
Rosemary Essential Oil is also reputed to improve feelings of mental clarity while aiding alertness and concentration. This combination of clear and focused mental energy is great for stressful conditions when you need to see things from a clearer perspective.
